Am i supposed to have nightmares? why don't i enjoy them anymore?

i keep reading that symptoms of PTSD or Rape Trauma Syndrome include nightmares. i indicate i used to have really impossible dreams, i wouldn't call them nightmares but...

but afterwards they went away once HE (the guy that did it) started to come around academy a lot. what does that have it in mind?

it may sound dumb but i'm thinking more or less it. does that mean i wasn't raped? i niggardly i have adjectives the other symptoms but the bad dreams enjoy gone away...i'm not sure why

What is Masturbation? (I think that's how you spell it)?

Not everyone who have been raped have nightmares. Nightmares are just one symptom of PTSD and RTS, and are surplus to requirements in demand to make such a diagnosis.

The need of nightmares does not mean you be not raped. Whether you were raped or not depends on whether you consented to sexual intercourse. If you did not consent, and he have sex with you anyway, you be raped.

You might find that the nightmares come back again sometime, or they might not come again. My personal thought on nightmares is that they are a opening to process things we aren't processing while we are awake. Maybe the fact that he's coming around more normally means you are processing more during the year because you are seeing him more.

I am very sorry he did this to you. I am also sorry you enjoy the other symptoms of PTSD. I had it too after I be raped and it was really easier said than done to deal next to. The good communication is that it does get better, okay? There are some really effective websites out there for you to catch support if you're interested. One is http://www.survivingtothriving.org/... Another is http://www.pandys.org which has a message board and chat room.

Take meticulousness of yourself!

Am i at high risk for breast cancer?

Dreams may or not be significant. If you've be raped, you need to make conversation with a professional who can assist you. Call a rape crisis hotline. They are listed surrounded by the phone book. They should be able to direct you to someone you can catch some counseling from.
