Has anyone survived toxic shock syndrome? Do you have after effects, similar to a poor immune system?

I have it, but it has freaked me out from using tampons. I own no after effects from it.

The first time I used a tampon I have the effects of TSS. And now I own no side effects or anything like that and I am immediately able to use a tampon.
