Do antibiotics stop the contraceptive bud from working?

I know they stop the contraceptive pill and you need to cover yourself using other contraception for duration of medication and 7 days after you finish it. But does this apply for the contraceptive slip too. Just been prescribed antibiotics and wondered as kow i have to be careful when on pill? Cant give the impression of being to find info anywhere and doesn't say on booklet i got when i have it done

I know for sure that antibiotics affect the usefulness of the pill, cause I get pregnant while taking bc pills and antibiotics. I would think that since the push in has similar hormones, I would use alternate protection while you are taking the antibiotics, and for around a week or two afterward, cause some of the antibiotics stay within your system awhile. I'd use condoms as a supplement.

The doctor would have told if if it interfered.. it comes up on the computer near a warning when medication effects something else you hold got.

I'm not sure if the implant is similar to the injection, but anti-biotics don't affect the injection. You could name your local family planning clinic, or NHS direct, they will be capable of tell you, if your still concerned, use condoms as capably.

As far as i know it works the same as the pill so if i be you i would use a condom while you take the tablets and for a further 7 days after basically to be on the safe side
