Sometimes during my cycle, I have pale discharge but then a week following it is clear. Then sometimes my period never comes and I only get brown discharge for a couple days.

Does anyone know what's going on?

It is normal for discharge to translate throughout your cycle (ie clear/white/yellow). It indicates which part of cycle you are going through (ie ovulation)
Brown discharge contains blood. It channel that you are bleeding or have already started your spell but it is very wishy-washy, with little or no cramping, significance the blood takes longer to travel from you uterus to you vagina. This is why it is brown, it is conventional for blood to go brown after a while.
So simply its all ordinary!
