Is it true that you can get pregnant from birth control in 1st 30 days?

Is this really true?...Is it true that during the first 30days that you take birth control pills, that your body hasn't even so adjusted and you are at a relatively glorious risk for getting pregnant? And if so, what is the 'normal' adjustment interval?...e.g., a month, two months, etc.

If this is more than just an urban myth, consequently why don't doctors notify people that they necessitate to wait a month after taking them? Isn't this going on for as irresponsible as when a doctor didn't notify my friend that antibiotics cancel out the value of the depo provera shot? :(
