Are there solid periods of time surrounded by a females life where on earth sex is all she craves next not crave it at all? If so, when are these period of time and why do they occurr?

I go though bouts of not wanting sex for months next all of a sudden I'm on a sexual rampage. It is confusing to me and my husband because he think that I'm not attracted to him. That is so far from the truth. Sometimes I'm just have sex because he wants it after other times he can't keep up becasue I'm so horny. ( for the deficiency of a better word)

Is this normal? What is going on inside my body that would form this happen?
