Personal Experiences near an IUD and Depo-Provera?

I've been on Depo-Provera for over a year (I've received 6 shots) and it make me extremely moody and I've gained alot of shipment. I've talked to my gynecologist roughly the problems and she recommended an IUD. Here's the problem. I'm 19 and have already have kidney disease, a bilateral nephrectomy, and a kidney transplant. I don't really want children and it's unsafe for me to be pregnant because of all the other medication I'm on. However, getting my tubes tied, so to speak, isn't really an option any and I realize that IUDs can cause infections. I also can't be on any other type of birth control because of estrogen or potassium and the mode it would interact with my medication. I'm surrounded by a committed relationship which is another reason why my physician recommended it. I be just wondering if you could extend insight or personal experiences with Depo-Provera or the IUD to aid me make an informed judgment because I'm finding it to be very difficult. Thanks for your back.

Being that you don't want to have children at adjectives Depo Provera is the best birth control you can consider. Although it has minor side effects, the risk of pregnancy is almost close to zero. I wouldnt really recommend the IUD for sanitary reason and you dont want to risk getting a infection. Some girls have complained that the IUD moves sometimes during intercourse. That could make happen a pregnancy. Your best bet is to stick with the Depo Provera. Good Luck.

Girls Only Please!!?

I hold the Mirena IUD...............I love it. It is good for 5 years. I hold had children so have it placed was a breeze for me, but I own heard that others have a lot of dull pain. I no longer have indigestible painful period. I have never gotten any nice of infection from it.

Good luck with your choice!

What is a sonohyst? Anyone ever have one? What does it involve? Is is painful or self-conscious?

i too was vastly moody with the depo provera and i gain sooo much weight and have an extremely high blood pressure. my gynecologist recommended that i have an IUD fitted and within a month i fell pregnant. my direction to you my dear is to use a condom if this is the only other remedy

Healthy weight?

IUD's release hormones into your body...mine also cause horrible gut-wrenchingly painful period. Plus there is a little nylon thread that hang out of your cervix (like fishing tackle) so you can check it to make sure it hasn't fall out, and the thread kept poking my boyfriend and he wouldn't have sex near me until I had it removed, lol.

Get a tubal ligation or Essure...it's what I decision I had done a LONG time ago.
