There is no best pill with smallest side effects. They all enjoy side effects as they are homonal birth control. Your best bet is to talk to your doctor something like this and he can advise if he think there is another pill that might work for you.

If you tried ortho triclyclen low and still experienced heavy side effects, afterwards this sort of hormone therapy might not be for you. That is supposed to hold the lowest dosage of hormones available, and if you're easily artificial by that, then you're body might purely be too sensitive to handle outside hormones.
Talk next to your doctor and see what s/he recommends.

Strange length?

forget the pill!! I discovered the best birth control method ever!! It's a little grotesque at first but once you get the dangle of it - well it's FANTASTIC. It's call 'Nuva Ring'. Like the name say, it's a ring, small, made of a certain features of plastic and you put it in for 3weeks (pro#1-never hold to remember to take a pill everyday!) and remove for one week afterwards repeat. It regulates your cycle and reduces the amount you certainly bleed. As far as side effects are concerned, it's different for everyone but I haven't had any (I know, I know - easier said than done to believe but it's true!) I guess maybe the solitary problem I had be getting used to the idea of putting it in and taking it out, it be easy satisfactory though and I think it's GREAT! Strongly recommend!
I see some citizens are suggesting the patch - I would not! I've heard some pretty desperate stories about that including blood clotting (your leg and heart). There are commercials on tv in the region of it being ineffective so think twice and talk to your doctor going on for switching to a different form of BC, get informed as much as possible.

Does anyone else procure depressed a few days before their term?

i heard that the patch works really suitable

Brown Discharge?

I also had side effects on Ortho-Lo. I have good luck switching to Mircette, which have a very low estrogen component (even lower than ortho-lo). Also, Mircette just has three days of placebo pills in the past it starts in again at a low dose hormone. This can comfort with the up and down effects of the hormones. You can use it resembling seasonale to skip periods too if you want. (you can do this beside any birth control pill that is monophasic--ie adjectives the dosages are the same--ie all the pills except the end week are the same color.

Other option like individuals have mentioned are the Nuva-ring, which get inserted in your vagina and ignored for 3 weeks (you can also use this continuously to skip periods). Also, near's the patch, which is changed weekly (once again, skipping periods is an remedy here). If you are monogamous, and pretty sure you're not interested in kids anytime soon, the IUD is a great option that you simply insert and forget about. People approaching the IUD and the ring because the hormones are just secreted locally and you don't obtain the whole-body side effects like you do near the pill or the patch.

Depo-Provera is another option, but folks do tend to gain weight beside that one, so if that's already a side effect you're concerned about, I would skip it.

Go articulate to your GYN, because there are LOTS of option out there.
