What are some causes to an irregular menstrual cycle?

Just curious. I have not have Intercourse but recently have outercourse and now my time of year is a lighter flow than normal and it keep starting and stopping. What could be a cause? Could I be pregnant? Like what if seman get on my hand and I scratched myself down south? Ugh and I can't find aid anywhere.
