Performing push-ups develop the main arm muscles, which are the biceps and triceps. The biceps, or biceps brachii, is the big muscle that runs along the front of the arm, flexing the arm and turning the palm upwards. The triceps run along the support of the arm and move the arm in towards the body.

The pectoral muscles are worked together beside the arm muscles when doing push ups. The pectorals or 'pecs' are large muscles stretched across the upper chest contained by the front of the body. The pectoral muscles are used to flex and rotate the arms, move the shoulders and for pushing and pulling.

Push-Ups are effective for tightening and toning loose skin on the inside of the arm. In regular life, we don't recurrently use the triceps muscle - the under-side of the upper arm - and as a result this area become flabby. Push-Ups help tighten this nouns
