Yeast infection and ovulation ...are they connected?

I have be having yeast infections since few months but I notice they emerge just during the begining of ovulation inspite of the OTC medication.Last month went to the doc and have a medication prescribed. It was totally gone and at this time, which is my ovulation, that itch is resurfacing again.
Is this usual for yeast infections to resurface during ovulation. And yes, I will go to the doc again...but earlier that I just needed some warning.I deeply appreciate your proposal.
Thanks.

It is possible that the hormonal peak a moment ago before ovulation is cause changes to your vaginal pH which predisposes you to a yeast infection at this time.
Around the time of ovulation, it is mundane to have an increase in vaginal discharge, sometimes greatly. Sometimes there can be some itching or irritation from the wetness related to the discharge.
So, be sure it's REALLY yeast and not only just your normal cyclic change. Hopefully your doctor looked at it under a microscope, and didn't basically treat your symptoms.
S/he will also want to check your blood sugar if yeast infections are a recurring problem.
Dampness and bake predispose you to yeast infections, so maybe wearing a pantyliner and shifting it frequently could help. Avoid tight clothing and fabric that don't 'breathe.'
