What's your opinion on the Depo-Provera birth control shot?

I've been taking the pill for give or take a few a year, used the NuvaRing for a year before that and the pill for 6 months prior to using the ring. I similar to the pill I'm on now, but lately beside law academy and everything else, I find myself taking the pill late plentifully and forgetting once in a while. I'm scared of the patch, the ring didn't work near sex for my fiance and I, so I was considering the shot. I've hear horror stories of weight gain and irregular bleeding and impair fertility but I'm not sure how much of this is hype or what. What side effects did you experience? What were the perk of using the shot as opposed to other BC? Pros? Cons?

It works great if you don't want to win pregnant but you still need to be responsible and use condoms because it wont protect you from HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases, I used depo for close to 8 years and it worked great for me eventually I quit having period all together, year after year next to maybe one extent here and there. I have no weight gain issues or any side effects except no periods.
The one item I remember that I hated be after the first injection I had a interval for a whole month...I guess it be just my body adjust to the medication, but that was really annoying.so if you can attain by that initial month it is awesome stuff. Oh yeah another bad piece, when I did want to get pregnant it took 1 1/2 years of trying since we were competent to conceive, but we finally did.

My best friend and cousin enjoy gotten pregnant with the shot, and my friend gain about 15 lbs. So that be a big red flag for me. I hated the patch. Sometimes we can basically take a pill and count our blessings!

depro can brand name you have more or smaller amount bleeding than normal it can also effect weight gain ,bloating and pms etc ..
once its in it last 3 months .
try the implant if you enjoy side effects it can be taken out and the symptoms dissapear it also lasts for 3 years ..

I personally hold never taken it, but really heard mostly cynical side effects. Best bet is to talk to your dr. Once it's surrounded by effects or not you have to ride it out. Try varying when u take ur bc instead. Like when u brush ur teeth, or set your cell phone if you enjoy one to a certain time and preserve them with you other. A "T" is always an odds, but because it can become attached to the uterus it is not a very apposite one. And it is in for 3 - 5 years.

Iam discharging and smells , and it leaves a yellowish stain what could it be?

The shot can be amazingly very disagreeable. It does work for some people but the side effects a friend of mine have were horrendous and she be physcially ill for almost 2 years and after literally thousands of dollars worth of carrying out tests they still could not find out what was making her so sick. I found out she be using the shot and immediately sent her info going on for the nasty side effects of it and her doc be like"if only I have known I would hold never put you on this". You have to wish if the possible side effects are worth it to try it and see if it works for you.

I've also hear all that stuff roughly irregular bleeding and so on, but when I used the depo-provera shot, the biggest impact I felt be that 1, I felt totally down, grumpy, depressed, etc and 2, I have ZERO sex drive. Have you thought about an IUD? They're more expensive upfront, but soooo reliable and lacking all the unnatural feelings of mortal on depo-provera.

it is nice to not have to remember to transport a pill, but I did not have a flawless experience. I was on "the shot" for over six months after I have my son, and I was spotting constantly. I be terribly moving and irritable. Then when I went sour it, I had the worst term of my life. It be probably just me or perchance I didn't give it adequate of a chance, (the doctor said 75% of women don't spot after 6 months), I don't know. I basically don't think it is automatic to go so long minus menstruation. I'm glad I chose to stop. Consult your doctor though, I'm just one human being.

Well, i can tell you that a- you will gain counterweight and b- aparently you can harm your body lastingly. I would definitely look into it past taking it. I wouldn't let my daughter run it.

If you are someone who can seriously stick to the date of the shot (not even a day or two late) afterwards maybe, but for it is not for you. We switched to a monthly shot and even that was tough (again - planning is key). if you head a busy lifestyle filled next to appointments and such this is not the best choice - too much to risk and feelings getting hurt.

Euh! I can`t stand shots! Why don't you just prefer to take the pill at alike time every day, resembling when you first wake up or at lunch or at bedtime? If you're surrounded by law arts school, you're a bright girl and shouldn't have any trouble remembering a short time thing approaching this, especially when they're in the little pack and the days are marked for you. If you hold time for sex you have time for establishing a ritual birth control pill taking time. Good luck.

Is it adjectives to get brown spots and not obtain your period?

I instinctively LOVED the shot. No weight problems, mood swings, cravings, PMS, cramps, period! I would get single one period going on for every 15 months!

The only drawback for me be that my insurance wouldn't pay for it anymore, so it be back to the pill for me.

The shot, lately like any hormonal birth control method is user-specific. Your personal experiences near it will NOT match another human being's so asking for opinions and experience is a bit futile.
