What vitamins and minerals need to be increased during pregnancy?

What vitamins and minerals would pregnant women need to increase their intake of while they're pregnant? This is a interview for my nutritional chemistry class and I can't find a good answer on procession or in my book. Any help out would be appreciated.

There are some ingredients that are now considered standard contained by prenatal vitamins such as a greater amount of folic acid (folate), iron and calcium. This is a quote from the third quotation below. I hope that this helps.

I own 3periods in a row what does that tight?!?

a woman should increase her intake of folic acid, iron, vitamin a, d , and calcium.

Help again woman merely!!?

The most important is folic sharp as it prevents neural tube defects such as Spina Bifida.

Foods that are intrinsically high surrounded by folate are vegetables, especially green vegetables such as broccoli, spinach, salad greens; citrus fruit eg, oranges; wholegrain breads and breakfast cereals. Chick peas, nuts, dried beans and peas are also illustrious in folate, although cooking reduce this level. Foods beside extra folic acid added to them (fortified) include some breakfast cereal, bread, juices and food drinks.

Important Vitamins and Minerals:

Calcium (1,000mg) Where to receive it: Dairy foods, dark leafy greens, calcium-fortified soy milk, calcium-fortified juice and cereals

Folate (folic sharp is the synthetic form, available in supplements)(600mcg) Where to bring it: Dried beans, peas, lentils, orange liquid, oranges, dark leafy greens, soy nuts, avocados, broccoli, asparagus

Iron (27mg) Where to grasp it: Liver, meat, seafood, prune juice, dry beans, wheat germ, oatmeal, tofu, soy nuts, grain

Protein (70g) Where to get it: Meat, poultry, seafood, dairy foods, beans and legumes, nuts
Vitamin C (85mg) Where to attain it: Citrus fruits and juices, strawberries, bell pepper, tomatoes, dark leafy greens, broccoli, Brussel sprouts

Omega-3 Fatty Acids (200-300mg)Where to catch it: Salmon, walnuts, flaxseed, leafy-green vegetables

Iron anemia is thoroughly common during pregnancy, and so, iron supplementation, may be in command. Folic acid, is also another supplement, explicitly commonly increased during pregnancy.

Consider, examining marketing claims, of vitamin manufactures, prenatal formulas. Then jump to: http://highwire.stanford.edu/, and search for proof.

Two, search examples, are: "iron anemia" "pregnancy"; "folic acid" "spontaneous abortion".
