I have recently started a relationship and hold been off the pill for almost a year in a minute. I am eager to sleep with my alien partner but am not due my period until the 29th April. Can I start to take my pill presently? Will I be covered? If I start to take it now will within be any side effects at all (as i haven't started my cycle)

You can start your pill now but you will not be covered for the first seven days and will requirement to use additional contraception such as condoms. When is a condom considered well-mannered to use?

You may end up pregnant. It won't work. As your cycle has already started, the ovum have already been released and is waiting to be fertilised. Taking the pill now won't stop that.

What you have need of is a barrier method (condom, cap) or IUD (Inter uterine Device) if you want to be sure you don't get pregnant. You must stop the sperm reaching the egg. Go to your GP and see what they can provide for you BEFORE you hold sex with your new partner.

Don't adopt any of the lame excuses men have for not using a condom. Claiming they can't feel anything or they 'don't acquire on with them' only resources they will have to wait until you are covered beside some other form of contraception. And don't fall for the 'I'll be careful' BS either. That's how copious of my friends ended up with lovely, but unwanted, babies.

It's up to you to protect yourself and your adjectives. Don't risk getting pregnant now, you're not doing the kid any favours if you bring it into the world without the surety of a committed partner to help bring it up.
