What exactly is Meningococcal Disease?
but i don't know what it is or how you can get it,so how do you get and what cause meningococcal disease?
Answers: Meningococcus (specifically Neisseria meningitidis) causes bacterial meningitis, a serious inflammation of the brainstem. Meningococcus also causes something similar to a toxic shock (meningococcaemia) . It can eradicate within HOURS of symptom onset. It is a serious problem for culture who live in dorms.
Meningococcus is highly contagious. Spread by saliva (kissing, sharing drinks, borrowing Chapstick etc.). It spreads fast in dorms because people are within close quarters.
Symptom include fatigue, high restlessness, sensitivity to light, stiff neck and a distinct blotchy purple imprudent (that's your circulatory system and its blood vessels disintegrating right under your skin!).
It kill several college students every year. And because it comes on so fast, a lot of students DIE until that time they can get treatment in time. Even if you are fortunate to survive, you can lose limb due to the vascular damage from the sepsis..
