What are the signs of vaginal candidiasis(thrush) on the road to recovery?

i had this intense itch, redness n whitish-yellowish discharge a few months ago, after a few days it subsided. i hope that it would eventually run away, but after months, the whitish-slightly yellowish discharge still remains, though the itching only occurs when the discharge gather too much in my underwear. otherwise, minimal itching, the swelling is not there too. i ponder it has gotten quite mild, but i looked-for it to disappear completely.

after i went to see a gynae, he told me it's most probably vaginal candidiasis and gave me a 150mg fluconazole(diflucan) tablet. it's be two days now since i've taken it. how long will it take to clear up? what are the signs that the infection is receding? (remember my infection is not so serious) and how lots days should i wait before i run to see the doctor again if it does not clear up?

I'm a medical student, have a pen-torch which i use with a mirror to see into my vagina. today at hand are still patches of whitish mucus in my vaginal, how long will it hold for it to clear up?

Answers:    the yeast infection should go away within 3 or 4 days. if it hasn't, its probably going to necessitate another dose. if it is really stubborn, then get your doctor to hand over you 7 tablets, and you take one tablet each time for 7 days. then the yeast infection should be gone. next time, dance to the doc as soon as you notice the first symptoms, ok?.
Your treatment is not completed.Repeat it.Also try to remember how it started sexual transfer, antibiotic theraphy, diabetes, contraceptive pills, public wc.,etc..
