What age do you as a rule progress on birth control pills?
Answers: If you aren't sexually active all the same, why start taking hormones? They are not without side effects, and some can be life threatening..
Ask and see what they read out! They will commonly prescribe them around 14 if you have bad acne or PMS symptoms (they do wonders for cramps and stuff).. You usually hold to be 16 or 18 to get them without a parent, I go on mine right at my 18th bday becaue i know my parents would have killed me if they know, my friend, however, went onhers at like 14 near her mom's permission. That is a legitimate source if your periods are pretty bad, even easier if you hold acne or somthing. Depending on your age, you can ask and see if you need a parent, kind of depends on the doctor wheter they will prescribe them but usually no younger than 14 or 15 unless in attendance are laws otherwise where you live (sometimes its 18 over only) I be 25 when I started the pill and that was ONLY because I'm in a serious committed relationship next to my boyfriend (who I love) and we want to be a safe as possible (that meant me going on the pill and using a condom EVERY time). When I be younger my doctor tried to put me on it to regulate me, but I made the decision not to do that.
Hence, what I'm saying is that only because you want your period to be shorter doesn't mean that the pill is the right ruling. You have to weigh the consequences..
That is not a good function to take birth control.
I would suggest you not take medication unless you really have to.
There are ALWAYS ways that every medication effects other parts of your body other than what is have been prescribed for.
like your liver, kidneys, heart, etc...
As far as what age to step on birth control? I say whatever age AFTER you are married and have sexual relations only while married..
i went on mine when i be 15 im 17 now and i switched 3 pills so far because my period is really horrible. im on continous method right in a minute which means i dont get period at all but ive only be on it for 2 weeks. im hoping it works. btw im not sexually active at all and im still a virgin and i thieve them. so the people who say you merely have to be sexually active to bear them are wrong. anyone can take them well..if u hold ur period u can take them
but usually u dont stipulation them unless ur sexually active.
BUT i understand why u would want them to spawn ur period shorter but u realize their are other side effects that come with b/c.
communicate to ur doctor hun and see what they say.
.
first how old are u??? and birth control is for birth control if ur not have sex id say dont even mess near it
