I have posted several questions on here just about PCOS and I've gotten some really good answers. So here goes the modern question: My doctor prescribed Metformin 500mg to be taken 2x a day. Of course I little by little worked up to that dose in 3 weeks. On the 3rd week when I started the 500mg 2x a day when I slept I have really weird, vivid, bizzare dreams. I slept way too much and (even still) my acne started getting worse ( a few more small pimples here and there). I cut support to 1/2 tab 2x a day and my weird dreams pretty much halt but what was wrong with me?!? Was it too much Metformin?? Was that throwing rotten my hormones?? Any info into this would be greatly appreciated.

The crazy dreams are actually a very adjectives side effect for many different types of medications. I hold many different health problems, including PCOS and some other horrible pelvic conditions, and hold been on quite a myriad of medication over days gone by few years. I definitely notice that some of them surrounded by general, and some on an increased dosage cause extremely bizarre dreams. This is pretty typical, but if it bothers you, you should reach a deal to your doctor about it. Otherwise, just know that it is a majority side effect and is not harmful. There are many worse side effects out here, so I just try to embrace the vivid dreams! haha. Just imagine have auditory hallucinations..that one really freaks me out! Sometimes you just own to ask yourself if the benefit outweighs the negative parts. Hopefully it does, and if not, try something unusual. Alot of meds on increased doses can also make you very sleepy. Ask your doctor if a lower dosage will be influential enough. Sometimes that might be all you want, and you can hopefully eliminate some side effects. Best of luck!
