My Dr's have put me on 5mg of folic acid everyday for the rest of my enthusiasm due to a high homocysteine level. I found this out when I be pregnant with my Daughter and developed a DVT. My prescription was for 100, 1mg tablets. I have to take 5 tablets daily. My perscription have run out and I have to wait a few weeks past I can get in the Dr bureau. What is the highest dose of folic acid available OTC? Which brand would be the best to use until I can procure my perscription refilled?
