Plz answer! appreciation!
ive never had one before how do they do it? does it hurt? thx so much! :)
Answers: They'll purely put a small needle in your capillary (probably in the bend of your arm) It will hurt, but not more than a bee sting (and the pain doesn't even later that long.) The best advice I can give you is to NOT LOOK AT THE NEEDLE. I other look over and get queasy. Just don't look..
Hi. I'm a nurse and would like to explain the procedure to you.
I regard everyone is afraid of needles. Why? Because they are a little invasive and they do hurt a little. However, the spasm does not last very long, and you'll forget more or less it soon after it is over.
Here is how they draw your blood. The person drawing your blood will look at the inside of your arm, at the bend of the elbow. That is where the vein are close to the surface of the skin. The technician will find a vein that looks to be the best one to draw blood from. He or she will then put a tourniquet, a piece of rubber tubing around your upper arm and craft it tight. It might be a little uncomfortable, but the source they do it is to make the vein stand out more by blocking blood flow for a short time while. They will then clean the capillary with some alcohol. They use a very sharp, verbs, disposable needle with for a while hood like thing over the running out of it, where they will place a tube to collect the blood. They will then slide the nozzle into the vein. Once they are in the capillary, they will put a test tube over the end of the syringe, under the little hood, and the blood will flow into the test tube by itself.
Depending on what test you are having done, they may need more than one interview tube. The tubes are small, and don't take much blood, so don't worry roughly speaking losing too much!!
After they finish drawing your blood, they will put a piece of gauze over the place where they drew the blood and either own you bend your arm tight or press down on the gauze to make sure it doesn' t bleed. Then they will tape the gauze down. You can rob the gauze off in a few hours.
Sometimes you might see somewhat bruising. Don't worry about that.
You'll do great!! Just breathe customarily, don't hold your breath, and don't watch if you're scared.
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.. .
Don't be in motion into it thinking the worst and thinking about the pain :) you should be fine if you don't give attention to about it. The nurse giving you the blood test, should trade name you reflex and calm. What they give you is a stress orb to make your arm flex so that you are ready and it won't hurt as much. Just grip the bubble with all your strength and it won't hurt as much. It doesn't hurt as much as you imagine it will my six yr old had to stir for one and she was fine. Yes it will hurt a little bit they will bear a cloth and clean the area first afterwards they will take a needle and put the fall of it into your vein in your arm and at hand is a vial on the end that will hold the blood. When it is full they might have to pinch another vial and fill it. When they are done they will take the syringe out and put a cotton ball over the tiny hole they make and later tape it over and you're done. .
I have a phobia of needles. First things first don't look at it while they do it. It feel like a little pinch. If you look you will freak yourself out. Make sure you ask for a BUTTERFLY syringe. It is thee smallest needle and you can barely perceive it. And make sure you eat something after words do it takes a lot of spirit out of you. It won't be that bad don't worry. It's zilch like getting a shot. Do well(: Im 30 and am still petrified of needles.
They put the needle into your capillary and the blood flows into the tube.
There are a few things that help me when i go...
If you havent get someone there with you for support (or even if you have) only just DONT LOOK at what they are doing, turn your head away and take wide breaths, close your eyes. They will tell you when its over with and when you can look again.
honestly, its not so bleak when you dont watch..
dont worry i be going through the same thing not to long ago up to that time i had surgery! i'm freakishly scared of needles to and they have to drawl my blood like 3 times before my surgery merely close your eyes an look away try not to think about it. if you stay settle down an relaxed it wont hurt a bit barely even a pinch! but if you get worked up going on for it, it might pinch a bit! once its in though its cake seeing the blood come out is actually kinda cool and they dont hold a lot! i am 13 to i have have 2 blood test once at 7 i think
after 1 a year ago it didnt hurt i didnt even when they drew blood
jus liik to the other side : ).
The needles just stick you and it does not hurt.
Only part I detest about blood tests are the giant rubber band they wrap around your arm. I tested 2 times. Don't be scared. Yes, it hurts but very little. So don't be verbs..
just close your eyes
