Mirena coil cross-examine?

i am 47 years old and have have mirena coil in for five years. Does it have to be replaced after five years at my age? I found it really bumpy having it inserted and really dread going through all that again.

Answers:    I am also 47 and hold had my mirena coil replaced aftert 5 years. This coil releases hormones into your body so your period is hugely light or disappears completely. These hormones are no longer effective after the five years, and stop working, and unless you are going through the convert your period will return.

I had both my coils fitted beneath a general anathsetic which could be an option for you.

.
Id check near your doctor i think it is five years though, but trust me its not all that rough the second time, i had the mirena and i too was dreading it but i didn't even consistency a thing at all and its over contained by a matter of seconds, honestly dont verbs about it and once its done its done for another 5 years The Mirena coil can be left contained by for up to five years, irrespective of age. The Mirena coil will not just switch off after 5 years, near is an extra safety margin within it...but it will need to be changed or it will be ineffective. I would recommend seeing your GP..
You don't have to draw from it replaced but don't think that since you are 47 that you can't get pregnant. Keep within mind that there are other things out there that can be used save for IUDs that might suit you better
