I'm a virgin, do they hold to do a pelvic exam?
Answers: You should start getting a yearly pelvic exam when you any become sexually active or reach 18, which ever comes first. You should own had one already (actually you should have have a few of them already).
Pelvic exams are or so much more than detecting STD's, they are a very important physical that EVERY woman should achieve done regardless of sexual activity every year. Your doctor willonly echo what i enjoy just said and could very in good health deny you any birth control that he or she would write a prescription for until you get a pap. This is so that they know what your condition is before and if anything happen while on it they can monitor any cervical cell changes, mucus changes, change in the uterus etc. They are all remarkably important. Also once you go on the pill you will call for to get a pap every year before the prescription will be renewed.
They really are not as doomed to failure as you are thinking. Go in and talk to your gyno, explain you enjoy never had one before and ask as several questions as you need to. The doctor will be capable of show you all the items used, explain the feelings that will come up during the procedure and what will happen during etc. If you have a nice doctor (I find the males are in fact a whole lot more gentle than the women!) they will enjoy a metal speculum warmed (or a plastic disposable one if that is what your clinic uses) and adjectives doctors will add a good amount of lube to this so that it will shift in easy. This will hold start on the vaginal walls so that the doctor can easily take swabs and see the uterus. A digital trial will be done which is the doctor inserting two fingers and pressing with the other hand on your lower abdoman. You will also hold a breast exam which will help detect any lumps or changes within breast tissue that would be of concearn.
The procedure is not fun, but it certainly do not hurt and if at any point it does hurt be sure to tell the doctor. It will be self-conscious at most but never painful.I had my first one since I lost my virginity and it never hurt at all. You just inevitability to relax, if your tense it will not go so very well..
it is recommeded to get an annual pap at age 15 wether you are sexually active or not. they enjoy to check you out first to note any changes that turn out each year and to check for abnormal cell and such. the actual procedure is embarrasing and uncomfortable but it usually is over quick. the worst slice is getting undressed and having someones face stuck contained by your stuff lol dont stress about it, we all freshly have to get it over beside. how old are u? if i'm not mistaken i think it is recommend that you do achieve a pelvic exam at a certain age even if you are a virgin. but don't be scared its just to help us women out. its only commonplace that you feel this way. i'm not a nurse or anything but i dream up i am correct on the exam part..
its not nearly as scary as it seem. i was a virgin for 3 years and still getting pelvic exams. why wouldnt you want a pap smear? it keeps you clean girl! you never know whats going on down there and they only lend a hand you out. its just a quick discomfort reaction, doesnt hurt, just feels grotesque and youre done! congrats on marriage! thats like adage you dont need the flu shot if you dont have the flu! I have my first at age 11. Its really no big deal, you should get it done past you get on birth control to ensure everything is in working direct down there..
if you havent been sexually live they most likely wont do that. Its not as bad as it sounds really. They will own to do a pelvic if you are getting put on the pill though.
