How to ask for birth control?

Im am 16.. obviously a female. Ive have my period for 2 years now..and this previous year has been hell. I bleed severely heavily and my whole body hurts for like 3 days. The first 2 days of my term are the worst though.. i feel like i hold the flu or something and my cramps are unberable. These past couple of months i discovered midol.. it works better than tylenol ever did for me..so that has help. My period still is extremely painful. Anyways..Its gotten to the point that I want to formulate my periods lighter and shorter. Is it possible for my doctor to give me birth control confidentaly. My mom is a nurse.. but I dont really natter to my mom or anything and Im too embarassed to talk about my time of year with her. How do I get birth control?

Answers:    Wow I must articulate this took courage...my hat goes sour to you.Me and my girlfriend were both 16, she had like peas in a pod problem...She was worried the doctor would tell her parents, but no...within is something called doctor patient confidentiality, this scheme he can't tell anyone, or if your still uneasy just notify him not to tell your parents, besides doctors and parents know that teens are usually sexually active at 15/16 also if you consistency like your mom is going to play it cool tell her, and she will turn get them. The most important entry i can point out is the fact that you just posted this cross-question to billions of people you don't know, ( that took courage) if you can do that you can tell your doctor. And if you are not confortable jump to a walk in clinic they can supply you, even if you don't know the doctor.

Hope this help... Good Luck!

You could probably go to Planned Parenthood. They are supposed to be confidential.

By the way, you would hold to take the pill for over a year before your period get lighter. I was on the pill for fourteen years. My starchy periods did not get lighter until I have been on the pill for five years. The pill shortened my periods by sooner or later with the first pack.
The pill does not help beside cramps. You'll still have to take meds for those, but your flow will eventually be lighter.

=====>cmh89: This is MY personal experience beside the pill. I am not wrong..
its awkward but tell your mom about the backache and how much it is affecting your everyday life. the first post is wrong. i have one and only been on the pill for a few months and mine are already lighter and i haven't had cramps, i used not enjoy to miss work and school because my period be just so unbearble. just gross sure you explain exactly what your symptoms are and they will find the right pill for you. also if you tell your mom she will pay, and its seriously of money trust me go to your local health department and carry your birth control..they can't tell your mom and you don't need her authorization
