Head rush? Seeing twinkles??

Sometimes when I am sitting down for a little while, and stand up, I get a leader rush feeling, and see little twinklies, that completely block my vision for nearly 10 seconds. This happens possibly 2 times a day. But sometimes I can go weeks lacking this happening! My mom gets worried that it have something to do with blood sugar, and possibly diabetes, because they both run on her side of the family. On my dad's side, his mom experienced these greatly when she was very childish, like teenager. She used to stand up, and if she stood up too with alacrity she would see the same twinklies and drop to the floor. She'd wake up contained by a minute or two, but then she'd move slowly so she didn't do that again.
I'm pretty sure that this isn't normal, and I only just have to wonder why the heck this is happening to me!!

Answers:    It conceivably related to diabetes but then you should be displaying other symptoms as well such as thirst, frequent urination, extreme hunger, headache etc. it may be related to an inner ear problem. But most commonly this is a condition known as postural hypo-tension. Upon rising your blood pressure does not rise fast satisfactory to accommodate the body. This is something which should be brought to the attention of your doctor and a referral to a cardiologist is in order. This is a condition which is glibly controlled. .
Low blood pressure and possible low blood sugar Check with your Dr.
