Has anyone used Mirena birth control if so what was your experience?

Answers:    I have been using it for over 2 years now. I absolutely love it!

It is the most effective birth control on the market. I haven't had any side effects while using it except for menstrual effects. I haven't had a period since I had it inserted. I won't complain about that. I do notice a cycle with very mild PMS symptoms, so I know I am not pregnant... so it is great.

Insertion really wasn't bad: just a few cramps and a little spotting. No big deal. It hasn't really affected our sex life, except for letting us be more spontaneous. I really do love it.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me..
Hey, I have had my Mirena Coil for just under a year now and find it very effective, I had it inserted as part of my treatment for endometriosis and was under anesthetic when it was inserted so I can't tell you about that side of it.
In terms of its effectiveness as a contraceptive, it is very effective, with 1 in 1000 women falling pregnant whilst using it in a single year, these figures make it the most effective form of contraception at the moment although they also show that, like any contraceptive, it is not 100% effective 100% of the time.
I have had very few periods since using it, and it has cured the heavy bleeding I was experiencing, In terms of the part it plays in everyday life, it is brilliant, once it is in you need to worry very little about it, checking its position every now and again is advisable but basically you are free from having to take a pill everyday and have effective contraception..
I'm 19 and haven't had children, and got mine inserted about 2 months ago. Getting it in was not a whole lot of fun, I had my awesome boyfriend hold my hand through the whole thing. If he wasn't there, i probably wouldn't have been able to do it.

deciding to go ahead and get Mirena was the hard part, haha. I only had some minor cramps the day I got it inserted, but the day after I was fine. (many other experiences I have heard of, the women had cramps for a couple days after) Ive only had one period since, and spotting just about every day. My doctor said this is normal, and could last up to 6 months.

overall, I am very pleased with it! So far, no complaints from my boyfriend's end of things, and I am happy!

Go for it! Just make sure you bring someone to hold hands with when you get it inserted :)
