Ok, I am currently 20 years old. I started birth control 4 years ago when I was 16. I only just stopped taking it, and I've had my period in a minute for over 10 days. Is it normal for my period to be adjectives out of whack from stopping birth control ?? And it doesn't seem like my typical period, it's a lot of hefty bleeding. Also, is it normal for it to itch down there rather if you wear a tampon longer than your suppose to?? Thanks for your help !

Answers:    It's normal to own your period heavily and for a bit longer than normal when you stop birth control. Your body familiar to the birth control when you started it and now it is simply re-adjusting. If it continues for anything longer than 12-14 days you should contact your doctor to make sure the birth control hasn't done any defile to your reproductive organs.

It is normal for itching to occur from wearing a tampon. Some contain perfume that can irritate your skin temporarily. However I do not suggest you wear tampons for longer than recommended on the package. Toxic Shock Syndrome is not a joke..
