Does endometrial ablation really work?
Answers:
Am I really pregnant or be it a mistake?
Yes- most of the time anyway. You did not say what you were considering it for. If you hold menorrhagia it is now tried first, rather than going straight for a hysterectomy. Insurance should settle up for it (check with them first) and most insurance will not pay for a hysterectomy unless an endometrial ablation be tried first. (Unless a hysterectomy was indicated for another reason, i.e. for cancer.) If you are simply looking for permanent sterilization, tubal ligation or the newer procedure of putting plugs in the fallopian tubes is what is usually done. In any satchel after endometrial ablation, pregnancy can occur and can be dangerous to the mother and fetus, so you are correct that birth control is manifestly needed. The endometrial ablation would NOT be considered a form of birth control. There are different forms of endometrial ablation too- ask your doctor. I had a NovaSure done 5 months ago (for menorrhagia) and LOVE it! I was posterior to work in a couple of days and problem solved. I know other women who tried endometrial ablation and it didn't fix the problem and they went on to requirement hysterectomy.Yes!! It was torture trying to decide because evidently a hysterectomy does work but even though they say your hormones aren't affected if you give your ovaries it still worried me. Ablation had mixed opinions on whether it would work or not I fixed to try the ablation and if that didn't work then I would get the hysterectomy. I have it done in June of last year. I bled for a few months after that. Well it wasn't really blood. I give attention to just discharge from the lining. Now I own my period for 1/2 day. The singular problem I have now is I don't know when its coming excluding I get cranky. I am kind of irregular in a minute but I am okay with that. Can't complain at all.
The best result I have made in a long time. I in recent times had my surgery April 9th and already I can tell a difference. The morning I had it done I had similar to really bad menstral cramps and was amazingly tired but I slept most of the day so it wasn't that bad. By the subsequent day I was totally fine. Have not have a period since March 22 and I feel great. A little discharge still but totally worth it. I have a great gyn who I completely trust, so just make sure you find a pious dr.
