Does drinking relieve menstrual crmps?
Answers: Not for me. I have endometriosis and my body makes too much estrogen (which help endo grow and spread) and alcohol can make your body create even more estrogen, which is also what make cramps hurt. Might aid while you are drinking but they next day you could finale up feeling even worse then you did in the past you drank..
Drinking is not a muscle relaxant like some other folks have said. Actually drinking while you are on your time is kinda bad for you. Alcohol is a diuretic (makes you pee) and that dehydrates you. Being on your period also dehydrates you. Being parched can cause more severe cramps the next light of day (think of a hangover). The reason that alcohol makes the cramps give the impression of being better is that it dulls your sense of feeling. It almost makes you numb if you drink ample. Drinking enough to get drunk is desperate for you anytime but it is even worse when you are on your period. Are you talking of "alcoholic" beverages?...IF so.if you drink adequate you probably wouldn't feel too much!..But I think a "hangover" would be worse than the "cramps".. BUT! Actually, don't drink COLD drinks... Sip on hot tea such as Constant Comment, etc... it help a LOT!! COLD beverages makes cramping a lot worse...
Just try sipping hot tea, relax, seize a heating pad if you enjoy one... and enjoy yourself... PERIOD!!... (no pun intended...LOL!)
IF it is an "alcoholic" beverage you are WANTING?... I would suggest Bailey's Irish Creme in some coffee.. I've never have it in "tea" but that might be interesting. STAY AWAY FROM "COLD" DRINKS!
Good Luck to you Sweetie... Sorry you are having a tuff time.
if you drink one cup of wine, champagne, a shot of liquor...etc it helps...just dont drink too much!
You can transport 4 tylenols, its the same as taking prescription meds for cramps...take it and lay on a heat pad! .
I would think that drinking would individual help cramps for a short time until you become sober again and can quality everything. For some people it may. It does for me. It is a muscle relaxant I think! Bottoms Up!!.
it does for me! profoundly.
just try it and see how it works out.
