Can you use toilet paper instead of a pad ?

Answers:    yes you can use toilet paper but its not a good idea to. pads absorb most of the blood where as tissue will just go all messy as though you have wet it with water, is there a reason why you want to use tissue? i recommend that u stick with pads(no pun intended) its moe hygenic and alot less messier.
Of course you can :o)

Toilet paper is actually more hygienic and safer than commercial pads.

This is because commercial pads are made from synthetic material and plastics that make your vulva (external genitals) warm and moist making it the perfect environment for bacteria and yeast to multiply that can lead to infection, this can also make pads uncomfortable. Such pads also contain chemicals, additives and bleaches that can cause irritation and vaginal infections as well as this the long-term affects of such chemicals in sanitary products is not known as laws protect manufacturers from telling consumers the ingredients used. As such the exact chemicals are unknown (try finding a list of ingredients on a box of pads, or try asking the manufacturers themselves for the ingredients, I can guarantee they won’t tell you), however the dioxin scandal of the 1990’s suggests companies knowingly use harmful chemicals. You can get details on this from many places, but for a brief idea of the issue see the briefing from the Women's Environmental Network's Sanpro campaign http://www.wen.org.uk/sanpro/reports/san...

Many women use toilet paper all the time rather than pads to avoid these issues, it’s also much cheaper, can be more comfortable and it is better for the environment…although I personally would still prefer to use organic pads such as Cottons or cloth pads such as Lunapads to toilet paper, but whatever works for them!

FYI if in a jam try making your own pads, alter a face cloth or use some scrap materials, it is easy to do, cheap, and they are very comfortable too. There are patterns available in loads of places online, try for example this site - http://shewhorunsintheforest.googlepages...

Toilet paper may not be best if you have a heavy flow as it may go through your clothing, although remember some women use nothing at all as protection during their period, using methods of 'free-flow' where they either just bleed, layer their clothing to act as protection, or learn to recognise when they are going to bleed so they can let it out in the bathroom. If toilet paper is all you have got or if that is what you want to use then it is totally fine, in a lot of cases cleaner and healthier than using commercial pads. Just make sure to use enough to catch your flow so it does not stain your clothing, it won’t smell as bad as some people seem to think because the toilet paper is really no different to the protection you would get from a pad, you just have to make sure to change often..
if you school nurse doesn't have any and you don't have any yeah you can use toiletpaper.i would recommend carrying a bag that has pads/tampons wipes and powder in them and even about 7 paperbags to put your used sanitary napkins in them.
i really hope i helped! If you are in dire need of something, yes. But, it breaks off/shreds easily, makes more of a mess and doesn't absorb well. So, I only do it when I have no other options, and only until I can make it to the check-out counter with a box of tampons! lol .
If you just started and have nothing left, but you need to get a pad fast b/c that can cause oders and leaks on your clothes b/c thats not made to protect you on your period!
Peace v i would only if i couldnt get some that day -only if i was desperate. but dont in future make sure uve always got em with you because toilet paper is just unheiginc (sorry cant spell).
no, it gives way under pressure. If you are desperate or poor, you can use a washcloth, but it won't be stable. Get creative too. I guess if you didnt have anything else to use, yes. but if you have a heavy flow I dont think thats going to be enough protection..
yeah sometimes i do but if you walk, eventually it rides up and gets caught in your bum! no only is something happens that prevents you from a pad.
yes u can emergency's only don't go doing it on a regular basis please only if you don't have pad on you ,, the paper wont stay.
in an emergancy yes no...its not hygienic for one.
