Okay, so my sister-in-law and I were talking more or less a friend of mine and a sexcipade that she wants to forget. She told me that after her lapse in verdict she douched in attempts to cancel out her companions small ejaculation and the fact that the condom had slipped bad in their brief encounter. My sister-in-law looked at me with a shocked look and told me that I should inform my friend that she may want to move about to a doctor to verify that fertilization did not occur, because "Douching can increase the chance of pregnancy after sex!"

Is near any truth to this myth?

Answers:    Maybe she is assuming the sperm will get pushed further in the vagina because of the douche. I own never head of it increasing the chance of pregnancy though. It will increase your risk of getting an infection instead..

It's a myth and your friend shouldn't be douching at adjectives. It can cause infections.

If she is trying to prevent pregnancy after an accident such as that she requests to go to the drugstore (if in the US) and bring Plan B (or the morning after pill) and she should definately go to the doctor to ensure that she does not have any STDs.

hmm..i can definately see why someone would infer this is true, it sounds very possible to me...i mean if here is sperm present and you are washing in further up the vagina.ya know what i close-fisted.i am with you though i think she should seize a few home preg. test and schedule an appointment next to the doc, and ask about douching increasing the risk and have the doctor examine her to see if she get pregnant...good luck, sorry i was not really that much facilitate. I think I remember reading somehwere that douching does increase the chance of pregnancy and motivation birth defects in the babe.

Tell her to check! If she is pregnant then...well it looks close to your having a baby! :).

No this is not true, douching can neither increase nor trim down chances of pregnancy. myth. Douching is a good entry everyones in awhile but if you start to get a smell down in that see the doctor!.
