I just got done taking antibiotics for 2 months. When will my birth control work again? I hear 2 weeks but most people dont take antibiotics for that long. The longer you transport the antibiotics, the longer it takes to get out of your body?

Is it everyday?

It depends on what antibiotic and birth control your on. For any drug, here is a steady state concentration, normally achieved after 5 days of taking that medication. This is the height you want it to be at for the theraputic benefit. Half-life is the time for the drug to be half elimated/metabolized from your body. So if the stead state concentration is 10 of your antibiotic and you stop taking the antibiotic, and one half life span passes, only 5 antibiotic would be not here in your body. I would need to know the drugs your taking, as consistent drugs have different half-lives. After you stop taking the antibiotic, if the half energy of it is 5 hours, in 5 hours it will be at 50% concentration in your body. After 10 hours, near will be half of that, only 25%, after 15 hours, one and only 12.5% and so forth. They normally say after 7 partly lives, the drug is only about 1% or smaller number in your body so you should be safe. It take 7 HALF LIVES of the drug to be out of your body, not 7 days. However, if the half life of the antibiotic is 2 days, it might whip longer (and can still interfere with your medication). If its 2 hours, it would take smaller quantity than a day. since your pills are designed to work on a one month cycle give or take a few days, and the antibiotics interrupted their usefulness the safe bet would be after your period and when you start your subsequent pack of pills...besides better safe than sorry
