Will taking metronidazol (for bacterial vaginosis) result in me to develop a yeast infection?
I recently started have sex, which I think prompted my first ever problem down at hand. I went to the gyno for the first time and I be diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. My doctor give me the antibiotic metronidazol to clear it up. However, the more I look into it, it sounds like taking the antibiotic can wreak a yeast infection. Is this just other types of antibiotics? Or am I plausible to get a yeast infection very soon?
Answers: Taking an antibiotic can cause a yeast infection because it can sometimes snuff the good germs with the desperate. It's not something certain that is to say going to happen. I've taken tons antibiotics over the years and have never terminated up with a yeast infection because of them. Just transport the antibiotic your doc gave you for the infection, and if you develop a yeast infection, phone the doctor back. You inevitability to kill the unpromising bacteria, and after you can worry in the region of getting your body back into set off through medication for yeast infections.
