Answers: Its everyday for any girl to want to become a woman and mature...even surrounded by the old days. The makeup situation and they road girls are dressing is another ballgame, and I think Hollywood and the medium has alot to do beside the influence. It is sad.
Look at these kids' idol these days... Britney Spears... Jessica Simpson... and adjectives the others... sex sells... discouraging part is the audience is getting younger everyday! These kids are indeed trying to look elder. But I fail to see why greasy curls, lack of shaving, and body odor are related to an opportune first period..Sounds more resembling poor hygiene to me.
I think her wanting her length had more to do next to her wanting to feel similar to she's older. Maybe her friends hold developed more so than her. I think more childlike girls would rather enjoy a bra or start shaving their legs before wanting to enjoy their menstrual cycle. There is so much pressure on young kids today that they sometimes can't only just be kids for a while. Hello :-)
Answering from a parent's point of view, as the mother of a 6th level boy.
I pick him up from school on occassion. I am startled by what I see walking out of the middle conservatory but I guess we were no better. You can really see during the middle college years how the girls are so much more 'grown up' than the boys. My son is looking forward to 'puberty' and I laugh because I would own never told my own parents that in a million years!
To answer your query, YES - they are trying to grow up way too in haste but I did as well. The single thing is, my parents stopped me by not letting me dress resembling a tramp.
