a couple of months ago I found a lump on my left breast while doing a self-exam, the spot where on earth I found it has with the sole purpose gotten more tender, and hurts to the touch. I am taking birth control but I found this before I even approved to go on the pill. I hold an appointment with my gyn. anyway this coming week so I am going to enjoy her check it out too. In the mean time to put my mind at lighten (hopefully) I want some feedback whether good or doomed to failure as to what it could be. I am only 18 if that help anyone with any guidance they may have.

Answers:    Breast cancer know no age. Although rare for someone your age, it is not unheard of. . Great that you are doing self exams. It could be a cyst, but see your MD and if he/she suggests it, seize a mammogram. Keep up the self exams, paps...etc. It's good to see youthful women being conscious and taking responsibility for their vigour.
