PCOS sound out related to my period?!?!?!?
Briefing: I'm 24 yrs old and am 5'10" and weigh 13 stone, I hold had PCOS since I be 19 and first had a length at the age of 12 yrs old. I have Bulimia from the age of 14 until I was 19 yrs behind the times.
So basically when I first have a period, my period only reaccurred every 6 months, next I had Bulimia and they completely stopped. Having recovered from Bulimia and consequently being diagnosed beside PCOS I now still own irregular periods. Up until 1 year ago I didnt own a period for 1 1/2 yrs, next I had one, afterwards it was 8 months until another time, and then I have one that was one and only 2 weeks late and presently am waiting for another.
My periods tend to run absent after come back but come support and are very irregular, and sometimes I'm stocky and last for 10 days and sometimes its the average 7 days and medium.
Does anyone reason they will ever work out properly?
Do you think I am suffering this because of my Bulimia and PCOS?
Answers: Have you be put on Metformin or any form of glucophage? PCOS causes insulin resistance and lead to type 2 diabetes. What Metformin does is help near insulin resistance and normalizing blood sugars. Also, when combined next to exercise and a nutritionist who puts you on a diabetic diet you can get down to a forceful weight and take healthy cycles.
Right in a minute you need to procure on birth control pills. They help to regulate your cycles and encourage your body to normalize it's self. If you can't get a length while on BCP's, than ask your doctor for Provera. Provera induces a bleed (period) which will finally shed your uterine lining. It is dicey to go so long in need a period because it could organize to endometrial cancer. I had endometrial hyperplasia (where your endometrial facing grows and grows and your body finally ejects the bin liner when there's no more room left for it to grow- it took 6 months of growth for it to finally shed) at 22 and my doctor be worried it was cancerous because my inside layer kept getting thicker and thicker and then wouldn't shed. I be switched from Yasmin to Ortho Evra the patch. I love the patch, I've never had regular period, but now I do because it have 60% more estrogen than birth control pills.
Yes, once your doctor gets you on the right combination of medication and you obtain yourself to a healthy weightiness and healthy BMI probability are you'll finally have a "normal" cycle. If you're a type 2 diabetic immediately you have to exercise, getting down to a robust weight will provoke your body to ovulate on it's own which will lead to majority periods. Your time can last anywhere from 3 days to 12 days.
Good luck.
It sounds similar to you have like mad of problems and abnormal period is the least of your worries. i regard with adjectives those complications you will prob never be "normal" but you can live a normal go - not having period properly isnt a bad entry - i wish mine come once a year! but i hope it does work out for you - sounds pretty sucky! I think you inevitability to talk to your doctor. Maybe she can prescribe something to abet make your period normal. I also enjoy PCOS and I was on birth control for copious years to regulate my period. I own been past its sell-by date the pill for about a year presently as my fiance and I are trying to have a child. I am on Metformin right now to try to support and it is OK. Sometimes I'm really regular and other times I skip a month. I would definitely confer to your Gynecologist.
Your diabetes is related to the PCOS most likely. You call for to take a birth control pill. It will prevent the progression of the disease, although within is no "cure"
I've often wondered if I suffer from PCOS because of my previous anorexia. I do believe there's some relationship. I also have endometriosis and ovarian cysts.
