I want to know what type of doctot to see for a breast lump?
Answers: I have breast cancer. I went to my primary first, her ordered the MRI which will show the lump contained by 3-D, then he sent be to a surgeon who ordered a biopsy. I have malignant invasive carcinoma. Then I had the mastectomy. I hold to tell you this. If the radiologist say to wait 6 mo approaching my radiologist did, DON'T DO IT. The shear anxiety of waiting is terrible. I refuse to wait because of my relatives history. In 2006, 5 members of my family circle were diagnosed near breast cancer. They tell you to dawdle if it is not very big. Bull, they own no right to make any one hang about. get it over near and find out now what it is. I told the radiologist she have no right telling women to keep on 6 mo to 'see if it grows'. that's ridiculous. She informed me it's because 99% of lumps are benign. Then she said she wasn't aware of my family history. I told her to forget my history, a history begin with 1 human being. Please get it taken aid of now. Had I wait like that idiot looked-for me to. I don't know if I would be here to tell you this. If you want to e-mail me and discuss some more, please do so. I'm on a mission to get women to articulate no to waiting. Be blessed, and good strength to you.

You can with your regular doctor and he will distribute you to where you obligation for proper care. A Gynecologist, he/she will convey you for a Mammogram (if necessary). I get lots lumps in my breasts ... I hold Fibrocystic Breast Disease. Not all lumps are insecure. Please don't worry, until you necessitate to. Best Wishes.
A primary Doctor should make the preliminary diagnosis, they may later refer you to an oncologist (if they suspects cancer), or persue another course of action it its not.
They likelihood of being referred to a gynecologist are highly slim as they deal with the sole purpose with the womanly reproductive system.
See the doctor that is most comfortable with your breasts. Both your PCP and GYN will be capable of refer you further testing and a specialist if needed. Basically ANY doctor from a common practitioner to a specialist in Women's Health can serve. They are all going to do impossible to tell apart thing: carry a mammogram and see if a biopsy is needed. They may take some blood and do some screening for pathology/analysis. In any event acquire this looked at as Soon as possible. The peace of mind that you got it checked out and the rash diagnostics are both good reason to make a phone up you your doc, pronto. Best of health to you! Dr Steve
See your people doctor first. He/she will be able to explain to you if it is something to be checked further. if it is allowed in your countery run ahead to a genral surgery consultant and don"t waist your time as breast lump = excision of the the lump + histopathology whatever the grounds of the lumb and according to the result of histopath. you will be directed to obg cosultant if the cause is hormonal inequality or to oncologist if it is malignant believe me don"t waist your time
Skip the middle man, and go straight to the surgeon. He know better than any other doctor which lumps are dangerous and which ones aren't.
