I know basically nought about it though - I've hear there are side effects, but also that the modern year pill even has form benefits. I'm slightly baffled by the amount of info there is online so I'm wondering if I can procure some information on what kind of change to my body I could expect, so I'm better qualified to decide if it's for me or not. Many gratitude =)

It may variety your breasts bigger. Women with a strong ancestral history of breast cancer may want to stay away from oral contraceptives, since they slightly raise your risk of getting it.
The Pill may also lower your libido, or brand wearing your contact lenses uncomfortable. It raise your risk of yeast infections.
In rare cases, the Pill cause blood clots. The pamphlet that comes with the pills will outline the vulnerability signs of this. The Patch may be more likely to exact them, since it releases a higher dose of hormones: "A woman on Ortho Evra may be exposed to approximately 60% more estrogen than if she be taking a typical 35 microgram estrogen birth control pill."

The Pill is safe for most women, though. It may protect against uterine and ovarian cancer. It can clear up a woman's skin, and make her period lighter, less itchy, and more regular. It may also help regulate a woman's moods, as your doctor said.
Different pills affect women differently. You may enjoy to try several kinds in the past you find one that suits you. My gynecologist told me that monophasic (one-dose) pills are better for women who want to avoid moodiness than triphasic (three-dose) pills. One of the newer pills, Yasmin, may help more beside this than other kinds, too.
The Pill is most influential if taken at the same time respectively day. If you skip pills, or transport them at irregular times, you'll be more likely to enjoy breakthrough bleeding (bleeding between periods).
Discuss your options beside your gynecologist. Good luck.
I'm not a doctor and don't really feel close to doing your research for you, but I'll tell you what I know. Birth control pills aren't fruitless for you -- you won't get greatly many gloomy side effects. But you get different side effects from different types of birth control. When I first begin I went on the pill. It wasn't adjectives that convenient for me as I couldn't remember to take the damn article at the same time everyday. I go off of it for a little years. I recently begin the ortho evra patch which is much easier for me. I noticed contained by about the first month of taking it my hormones be a little out of whack and I be a bit moody. It leveled out after that and I feel fine. Periods are lighter, shorter, and you experience smaller quantity cramps. With some birth control you might notice any weight gain or counterbalance loss. You might notice that your skin breaks out. Yeah simply so much information. At the gyno they have different pamphlet on different birth controls that sum up this information and makes it easier to choose which method is right for you.
