Getting period every 2 weeks, heavier and uncomfortable??
Answers: Periods that are too frequent (more often than every 28 days also call "metrorrhagia") can be related to several predisposing factors:
* If the period are otherwise normal, after a short "luteal phase" or insufficient ovarian production of progesterone may be responsible.
* If the periods are inconsistent, later failure to ovulate and the resulting anovulatory bleeding may be responsible.
* If the period are actually regular and once a month, but there are episodes of bleeding contained by between the periods, afterwards mechanical factor such as fibroids or polyps may be responsible.
* Women with hyperthyroidism are classically described as experiencing frequent, sweet periods. They, surrounded by reality, from time to time show that pattern, but we usually blind these patients for thyroid disease anyway.
I've experienced frequent periods too within the past that be caused by ovarian cysts.
There could be other cause for the frequent periods your sister is experiencing and I would recommend that she speaks to your Mom around her seeing a doctor/gyno for further evaluation to see what they think could be cause this.
Good luck :)
I was open-handed of having equal problem when I was younger, around 17 or so, I'm still not exactly sure to this sunshine why they were similar to that, and it lasted fairly a while, 6 months or longer... But I ended up getting on the Depo shot and it regulated my period for the most part. Well, when I get on the shot I didn't get my time of year at all for slightly a while, maybe 6 months to a year, afterwards they were regulated. But she should probably carry checked out anyway to be safe though. Good luck! ouch.
