How long does it take for the birth control pill's (Ortho Tricyclen) side effects to go away?

I've be taking ortho-tricyclen for five months and it's cause my skin to break out (the different of what it's supposed to do), I've gain 5 pounds on my small frame, and it's reduced my sex drive to ZERO. I'm so disappointed and arranged to stop taking it because the drawbacks are outweighing the advantages.
