Period & Birth Control?

Sorry If This Is A Little Too Much.

Im 16 & I've Been On Birth Control (The Shot) Since April...& So Far I've Had 2 Shots. & I've Been On My Period Since June 26. I Told My Mom I Needed To Call My Doctor & She Said Its Just A Side Effect. Well Me & My Boyfriend Who I've Been Dating For Longer Than A Year Have Still Been Having Sex..Yes I Know Thats Gross...But Its Not Messy & Nothings Ever There...Theres Only Blood If I Wear A Tampon.

Its Almost Like Im Just Spotting All The Time.
But Idk.

What Could Be Wrong...Is It Cuz Im Still Having Sex?...Could It Be My Eating Habits?..Should I Just Call My Doctor?

HELP!
