Most married couples don't approaching using barrier methods such as condoms or diaphragms because you lose spontaneity that channel. If you don't want kids, or have adjectives the kids you want, then unwavering sterilization would probably be the easiest in the long run (no pills to remember to whip, or patch to change, etc.).
