My friend has used IUD adjectives her life, presently she has reach her menopause.?

The issue is that she is still wearing one which expired last year (she have 5 years IUD fixed and forgot) and just realised yesterday. Is she contained by some kinda danger? Will she suffer near some infections etc? Please give bona fide answers...Thank you
