When is the just right time to hold birth control to avoid have a time of year on a unmistaken date?

I am going to an event on the 29th of August and todays date is August 17th, I normally get my period around the shutting down of the month like the 28-29th, when should I start taking birth control pills in order to avoid have my period on the 29th? Will my doctor prescribe me the pills for my reason or does it have to be for long occupancy use?

Also, do birth control pills cause any stomach pains?
Answers:
I don't think doctors will precribe the birth control pill for a short-term solution. They generally merely do it if you have sever period pain, acne, or are sexually alive. You might be able to just ask for the pill because your sexually moving, then start taking the week before the event. I don't think its knowledgeable to just take the pill whenever you want to skip a period though, it may inflict changes in hormones.
