You have to be on it for a while before it take complete effect, and even then, things happen. It's a lot safer to verbs using a condom even if it IS bothersom.
depo have been proven to be very effective contained by some women. i have a friend that takes the depo shot and she is sexually active and no kids on the other hand. as long as both of you are clean then i can,t see why use a rubber.

Personally, I'd wait until the second shot to stop using condoms. From what I've come across on sites in the region of birth control, and other women's posts on here, it seems that a lot of pregnancies happen within the first 90 days of a new contraception being used.
You might want to use a sponge and spermicide as your backup method since your only concern is pregnancy and not disease. That isn't as powerful as a condom, but if it's used properly and your shot is doing it's job, there's nothing to worry in the region of. Of course, if your shot is doing it's job, there's nothing to worry almost anyway...but since you don't know, better safe than sorry.
