Why am I extremely irritable?

I know that irritability is a common symptom of PMS, but for my past, maybe, 5 period, I have gotten extremely, over-the-top irritable for the week before my period. I am on birth control, and I hold been for about 4-6 years, though, I did change from a bc call Apri to another one called Yaz about a year ago. I'm not sure if that has anything to do near it. But, I'm just wondering what could be causing this extreme amount of irritableness. I just capture incredibly irritated over the littlest things. I don't really express my emotions or thoughts while I'm being irritated because I don't want to start fights, and I eventually achieve over it, but I just really don't like it. Does anyone hold a reason or thought to why this is happening? Any comments, or helpful hints to serenity myself are welcome. Thank you. :]

Hormonal birth control pills can have this affect on your mood. I feel that mode whenever I'm on any birth control. It's just birth control interfere with our normal body's hormones, which is the aim for having mood swings. Maybe you can go to your doctor, tell how you perceive and try some other types of birth control pills, since there are many options. Good luck!
it probably is from switching brands. articulate to your doc about switching to something else.
