I have recently had my 4th child and while not wanting 2 do anything 2 drastic arranged I should get some more serious form of contraception. I discussed the options with my GP and fixed to go 4 the coil.
Everything was ok for the first few weeks but now when I try to hold sex with my husband he can feel something poking at the tip of his penis and it's put me and (obviously) him off. I hold a check up in 2 days but was just wondering if any1 else have experienced this and what happened.

Sounds like the strings are poking him. It's common. You could ask your doctor to cut them shorter, but sometimes that make it worse. Be sure to ask about it, though.

The easiest solution would probably be to find a different position so he doesn't rub against your cervix like that.
