Is it more expected that i'll acquire cancer?
Answers:
With a family history, yes.
There are like 16 strains I think, not for sure of HPV, which is the virus that cause cervical cancer.
The gardasil shot prevents 4 of those, and they are the major ones that cause cervical cancer.
My grandmother had cervical cancer, and I have it, but I caught it early, so they removed it without any chemo or radiation needed on my part.
As long as you hold on to you annual or semi-annual OB appt's you should be just fine.
Good luck with this situation, and if you would please send me a message and permit me know what you found out, that would be appreciated.
Thanks and Good Luck

And a Cervical Cancer survivor... =)
the vaccine that you got individual prevents against some of the more common forms of the human papilloma virus, so it would reduce your risk for cancer and genital warts. however, it does not protect you against every form, so you still own to be careful. also, if your mother and grandmother each had precancer cell due to genetics, the vaccine does nothing to prevent it forming that way. freshly be sure to get annual pap smears so that any strange cells can be detected and dealt next to early on. the good thing is, plentiful times precancerous cells don't develop into cancer, and they can be easily removed. good luck!
