Surgical Removal of a Bartholyn Cyst??

I have a bartholyn cyst on the left side that have been there for nearly 2 years now. My doctor has drained it, lance it repeatedly, even tried a word catheter to make a new space. Last week, she lanced it again and told me that it has to come out. She cant find the stop of the cyst and is concerned. Wants to make sure that it is benign.
Questions? What risks are there next to the surgery? What are the chances that the cyst isn't benign? How long will i be laid up? It is usually outpatient right? What other questions do i obligation to ask my doctor?
Thanks bunches for any info you can give me.

It is possible for Bartholin's gland cysts to come back after treatment, commonly years later. Cysts can be treated again, and the Bartholin's glands can be removed completely if cysts recur often. There is no bearing to prevent a Bartholin's gland cyst from forming.
Using a laser or surgically removing the entire gland are a couple of the less common procedures. Both of these procedures are usually perform in an outpatient operating room as same-day surgery.
HOWEVER... Complete excision of the gland should be avoided unless malignancy is suspected. The other techniques may possibly be perform in primary care, by those beside the expertise, but excision of the gland can cause considerable blood loss and should be performed within an operating theatre.
Malignancy of Bartholin's cysts, even after the menopause, is so rare that the tradition of complete excision as a primary procedure, even in this group, has be questioned.
