Source of a uti? can it be spread?
i practically live at their house so i don't know if there a instrument that we could have both been exposed to microbes or something. it doesn't sound logically to me, but it seems similar to more than a coincident. you guys know more than me..
also she has been on antibiotics but they haven't really be working..
Answers: UTI's are not spread this way. They are usually from bacteria getting from the anus to the urinary system. Often however sexual intercourse can push the microbes into the urinary system causing a UTI. Urinating before and after sex can really help out reduce the chances of getting a UTI. Still you may enjoy come in contact with like bacteria as this persons sister from a stinking swimming pool or hot tub etc. Check with your doctor. Lower back dull pain and possible kidney infections are nothing to mess with..
UTI's are not contagious. They are spread by microbes getting into the urinary tract, for example, wiping back to front and allowing fecal microbes to enter the urinary tract. They do however cause kidney and bladder infections. It may just be a coincidence that you are also experiencing the lower vertebrae pain. If the antibiotics are not working for her, I suggest trying analgesic tablets. These are medication that usually start to relieve the pressure and pain in in the order of 15 to 20 minutes. They will also change your urine to bright orange or blue. So don't verbs about her giving you the infection, that's impossible. And I hope both of you feel better soon.
