I just started birth control Tuesday night. My designated time, if you will, be 10PM but last night I be out and I didn't take it until 12:20 AM. Am I still protected? thanks.

Depends on the type of pill you're on. Most pills aren't that sensitive to a 2 hour difference within the time. However, if this is the first time you've been on the pill, you need to hang around a couple weeks for the hormones to go through your body for you to be really protected anyway. Otherwise, I would say you're fine.

From what i can remember when i was on birth control, you have three hours either side of the time you took it, on most pills, but my friend was on one that she have to be excect on time every day, so only check out the one your taking online and be careful in the meantime. Also best checking With ur doc subsequent time you are collecting ur birth control.

wouldnt it make more sense to take it surrounded by the morning...that way if you forget, you are still awake and can take it one , two or three hours in arrears. If you normally take it at 10 pm, but forget and progress to sleep for the next 8 hrs, you're out of luck...just a thought
